Kent Coast and Landscape Photography

Reculver

Reculver is a small village on the North Kent coast near Herne Bay. It is famous for being the site of one of the earliest Roman Forts and for the twin towers of its 12th-century medieval church which dominate the skyline for miles. I enjoy photographing here for the peacefulness and its flexibility as a location which can be shot in several directions regardless of the tide position. Summer evenings can be particularly rewarding when the face of the church catches the golden light from the front and any dramatic sunset colour can then be viewed by shifting quickly to the beach at the rear!
